Our Tower Roasting blends are hand-selected by our top bean hunters, and masterfully roasted and blended to bring out the best in each bean. So when we combined our top beans from Brazil and Sumatra, we naturally called it the Revolution blend.
It’s Revolutionary for its full-bodied flavor in a medium-dark roast. It’s a combination of two beans half a world apart from each other. These two beans from vastly different regions create an enchanting flavor combination.

Coffee in the Aceh (pronounced AH-CHEY) highland territory, is grown in harmony with the surrounding tropical forests. Canopies are teeming with jungle wildlife. The fields are flush with coffee plants, fruit trees, and vegetables. The long growing season produces coffee ten months out of the year.
Gayo Mandiri is a family-operated exporter based in Bener Meriah, a broad district that encompasses the mountains along the north shore of Lake Tawar. Gayo Mandiri works with local cooperatives, operates a central dry mill, and promotes a relationship-based sales model with their buyers.
Every village in the cooperative has a collector (or more) who receives fresh-picked coffee cherries for washed processing each day. Once a batch of coffee has been de-pulped, washed, and sun-dried, collectors deliver the batch to the cooperative’s central mill. At the mill, the coffee is mechanically wet-hulled, leaving behind just the soft, high-moisture coffee bean, and then spread out on large patios to continue drying.
Gayo Mandiri is personally invested in their community’s success. It regularly distributes farming tools and cash dividends to cooperative members, as well as invests in drying tents for their central operations to reduce the risk of coffee spoilage.

Mantiqueira de Minas is one of the most awarded regions in Brazil for its tradition of producing high-quality coffee. In 2011, it was recognized as (IG) Geographical Indication, in the modality (PGI) Indication of Origin for producing coffees with highly differentiated sensory profiles.
The Dutra Family started planting coffee in the region over 50 years ago. Since then, it has grown the estate to nearly 2,500 acres with 10 distinct farms where coffee cherry from 3 million coffee trees is harvested by hand by more than 600 seasonal workers.
Fazenda Dutra has a passion for sustainability and community. All of the depulpers run on solar power, with mechanical dryers next on the agenda for clean energy conversion. The estate also boasts nearly 750 acres of native forest to protect water sources and create natural barriers to protect the coffee trees from wind and erosion.
The Dutra family also takes their role as a socially-responsible employer very seriously, with big investments in a school located at the estate and a health care program for employees and their families.
Our Revolution Blend is nothing short of groundbreaking. This blend defies mediocrity by standing up for full-bodied flavor in a medium-dark roast. It is the result of months of experimentation, testing, and refinement.
This is a discriminating fusion of Aceh, Sumatran, and Brazilian beans — two of the best growing regions on earth. Though grown half a world apart, our mix of Aceh, Sumatran, and Mantiqueira, Brazilian beans complement each other perfectly.
Revolutionary Blend is a full-bodied, medium-dark roast with delicious apricot, almond butter, and chocolate notes. Together these two beans produce an audacious blend that is (in our opinion) better than the sum of its parts. We are extremely proud of this delicious, bravely bold coffee which we consider to be nothing short of revolutionary.
